I've visited beautiful Colorado and the fires break my heart as well -- grateful that the people I care about there are safe and devastated to see this beautiful place burning. At NPR.org, if you search "Flying W," they had a marvelous feature on it. I had never been there, but it nearly made me cry.Jeaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17482528482559445943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3288945234878607080.post-20739049083209453802012-06-30T14:12:25.026-06:002012-06-30T14:12:25.026-06:00Hi Keicha,

I am praying for help in whatever is needed for those in flight and those who are fighting to control the situation.Sandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15923693784234135636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3288945234878607080.post-89259912018169968502012-06-28T15:16:46.655-06:002012-06-28T15:16:46.655-06:00I came over from your mom’s blog. I remember my mother telling me how she felt after returning from visiting a small town where she used to go in Normandy, France, after WWII, and seeing it almost completely destroyed by bombs. It leaves you numb. Your post is so poignant. I just hope that the weather will change soon.Vagabondehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774109692564954568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3288945234878607080.post-45362513456112057522012-06-28T11:24:01.323-06:002012-06-28T11:24:01.323-06:00This is so touching on a number of levels. He never did, but he never stipped talking about it either.Olgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00692441479616299920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3288945234878607080.post-13393501200267926152012-06-27T16:50:52.711-06:002012-06-27T16:50:52.711-06:00This is just beautifully written, Keicha. I think it is neat that you kept the ticket. Also, I forgot you had the book about Packy. I'm glad you have it. Mr. White, our neighbor, gave that to me when I was a child.Sally Wesselyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06470453773515491625noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3288945234878607080.post-72837248487128476192012-06-27T15:12:29.986-06:002012-06-27T15:12:29.986-06:00I chose Colorado as my home for almost forty years...I chose Colorado as my home for almost forty years, not having one of my own (my father was in the military). I loved all the places you mention here, but especially the Boulder area where I lived. I too feel the immense sadness of seeing what is happening in my adopted state. it is indeed a helpless feeling.DJanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07152183871573797791noreply@blogger.com
